Charlamagne Tha God is notorious for being confronting musicians music and lifestyle. He has confronted people like Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Jay Z and Lil’ Kim.

 

Charlamagne Tha God is a household name in entertainment. He is a co-host of a nationally syndicated radio show called “The Breakfast Club” with Angela Yee and DJ Envy. Charlamagne Tha God is a writer and has a book titled “Black Privilege” which ranked sixth in the New York Times of bestselling hardback nonfiction on May 7 2017. Another book he has written is titled “Shook One: Anxiety Playing Tricks On Me”. The title comes from two hip-hop songs that speak out against being anxious and afraid, which is mostly what his second written work explains.

 

Before that though, Charlamagne is a kid from Moncks Corner, South Carolina. His father claims he was bad kid growing up and his father disciplined him to get on the right track, but wasn’t able to keep him out of jail because of the crew Charlamagne was around. Charlamagne went to jail three times before success. The first time he was arrested was because of a shooting that took place in the car he was in. No one died but everyone in the car went to jail. The other two times he was put in jail is due to drugs. Police found marijuana and cocaine in Charlamagne’s possession and was also charged with intent to distribute. The last time he went to jail, his father decide to not bail him out for 41 days.

 

When Charlamagne Tha God got out of jail for the last time, he went to night school and worked for a radio station as an intern. He went on air a few times and that’s where his radio career started. Later he received a job from the Wendy Williams, who is also known for her trash talking. He was not paid at this job, but they promised him a position although later he was let go.

 

Where his career really started to take off is when he worked for Gee Spin. They went to lunch together one day before the radio station 105.1 was very popular. In 2010 Charlamagne went on the radio station full time and six months later the show started to gain momentum and now it is one of the top rated shows.
